I'm really irritated at a moron in my class (I mean, who pays $70,000 a year for a private art school and doesn't care about anything? Mommy and Daddy paying it for you while I'm going to work for the rest of my life to pay for this? And turn your freaking headphones down, dude! I can hear it over Avenged Sevenfold! DX) and so here I am serial-updating the site again. Luckily it's about noon instead of 4am per usual. However, my 30-second Motion Graphics project isn't doing itself. Ha. Take that, AfterEffects! *sigh*
Here's a video interview of Billy Talent with a bit of My Chemical Romance thrown in for kicks. I haven't seen it yet, so don't spoil it for me Thanks Racha!
Interesting tidbit about The Black Parade is Dead! tracklisting available from theblackparadeisdead.com. If you click on that thumbnail on the left, you'll notice that Warner didn't do a very good job with the spellcheck or accuracy.
In the first column (CD listing), Dead! is missing the !, but is present on the other two columns, and disappear is spelled wrong in the first column but correct in the other two. That's just the beginning. From what I've read, Jetset wasn't even played in New Jersey, instead replaced with a "new song", however, it's on the tracklisting for the New Jersey show in the third column. This isn't really related, but I thought this was pretty funny anyhow. I hope that's just the mockup because, if it's not, someone's getting fired haha.
Oldies but goodies, yeah? Some photos by Peter Hill done of My Chemical Romance at the Brighton Center in March 2007 have resurfaced. I'm quite liking the quality of his photography. Very, very nice.
Speaking of photos, Shell has been updating with phenominal photos of the recent tour. This is seriously bothering me, but why is Gerard wearing a purse strap? I can't just settle for the fact that it's keeping him from destroying the world. Well, I can, but I'm just insatiably curious. Freaking Italians aging backwards.
The Daily Mail has posted yet another article about 13-year-old Hannah Bond whose suicide is being blamed on My Chemical Romance. Why on earth did their daughter — a popular, intelligent and attractive girl — do such a thing? They could find only one clue: Hannah was what is known as an "emo". Milking the public much? The parents just don't want to take any blame in that they were ignoring the fact their daughter was also a depressed cutter. If cutting isn't a cry for help (and then having a conversation with your parents about it?), then I don't know what is. See post below.
Would anybody care to have a download of the current My Chemical Romance and The Black Parade logos (massive size jpg file)? I'm going to get those up either in the Gallery or under the Media link. And, as for those videos I'm promising? I still have a mysterious broken pipe, whatever that means.
Emo-ness, Soapbox
Got some time to read? Here's an article worth your time.
Emo on the web: exploring a subculture (source)
Highlights from the article:
- Emo has deep and spreading roots, which few who are close to it regard with much alarm. What began as narrowly defined musical genre more than two decades ago has since broadened into an attitude, a lifestyle and a fashion statement that has found a spiritual home on the internet.
- As with so many musical movements past and present, from hip hop all the way back to mods and rockers, the look and the attitudes of the bands evolved into an identity which many fans, especially those who considered themselves to be part of the hardcore following, would consciously seek to adopt.
- When a young person commits suicide, there is of course an understandable urge to find someone or something to blame, but today’s emo forums don’t differ all that much from non-emo forums. One discussion group at EmoCorner.com does include the alarming topic heading of “Cutting… is it worth it?”, referring to the habit of self-harm which some have associated with emo culture, but the resounding reply from the online community is: “Don’t do it. Seek help” – but expressed a little more robustly.
- In any case, most psychologists suggest that expressing feelings of angst or depression is healthier than bottling them up.
Bunnies (my petname for my visitors if you haven't caught on yet lol), I should have done this sooner, as other fansites have. Ready for another round of "Johnnie's Soapbox"? Right.
You are not alone. As most of us in the fandom know, My Chemical Romance save lives, not destroy them. I don't have as big of a problem with Emo as most do, mostly because I simply don't care to have one since everyone has enough of an opinion to cover for me, but self-harm and depression is never a fashion statement or trend. There are as many as 8.3% of teens suffering from depression for at least a year at a time, compared to 5.3% of the general population. Untreated depression is the number one cause of suicide, and suicide is the third leading cause of death among teenagers. We'll do anything to take away the pain and, even though they may seem like they help, often they are unhealthy themselves, eventually becoming even greater struggles like addictions such as drugs, alcohol, eating disorders, or self-injury. Experts estimate that 4% of the population struggle with self-injury. It has the same occurrence between males and females, even though in popular culture it can appear to be more prevalent among girls. While self-injury may not be about attempting suicide, the damage done while harming oneself always carries the risks of inflicting serious, and even lethal, harm to oneself regardless of whether suicide is intended or not. Self-injury is an addiction like alcohol or drugs and is nearly impossible to simply stop cold. However, there is help and you don't have to do it alone.
No, I've never felt this way, but before you wonder how I deserve to be on this soapbox, just know I've seen this on the outside. I can't betray her trust and let you know what's happened, but I will tell you that she was in that position, and picking up her violin is, I believe, going to be the thing that saves her. Don't underestimate the power of music and creativity, whatever it may be that works for you.

If you want to repost this somewhere, go for it. I don't need a link back. Just thinking someone somewhere may get use of this is good enough for me.
EDIT BY KATHLEEN:::
If for some reason you don't want to listen to what Johnnie had to say, then you can listen to me.
I don't have any statistics. I don't have any proven facts. What I do have is a memory.
I remember three years ago when I first started to harm myself. As innocent as I thought it was, it soon spun out of control to the point when I was carrying around a razor blade with me nearly everywhere I went just so that I could get through the day or even just the hour.
Needless to say I was a wreck.
It is for this reason that I urge you to talk to someone if you want to or have already started to self harm. There is always someone you can talk to. And no matter what you believe, there is someone who cares. If worse comes to worse, you can always email me [email link here]. I'll listen to whatever you have to say. Just talk to someone.
No matter what you believe, you are a beautiful and unique snowflake. You deserve to love the world and most importantly you deserve to love yourself. You also deserve better than a fucking razor blade.
Believe this with your life. And always have hope.

Keep Yourself Alive Video and Article

For anyone else interested, and those who don't go through our little chatbox, the link for the video where Gerard says "if we never play another show again... keep yourself alive" is right here.
And here is an article [sort of] of people defending My Chem after the recent accusation that they were at fault for a thirteen-year-old's suicide.
Time For Something Bibical said: "My heart goes out to her family, but you don't get 'sucidial' just solely by listening to 'emo' music, there are always deeper reasons and connections.
On a side note, does anyone else completely hate what they named that article?
Emily, Suicide, St Louis, Issues All Around haha

Remember awhile back when it was mentioned that Emily the Strange would be interviewing Gerard Way? Whether or not you actually remember, smile and nod, and check out these scans that MySpace Comic Books posted up. Who else thinks Gerard just belongs in her comic?? I do. They are absolutely adorable together in ink! Thanks to Betheny. Have a nice day, as well, sweetie
A 13-year-old girl committed suicide and guess who is to blame. If you guessed My Chemical Romance, then you are correct! Whoot! Check out the outrageous article here. I feel bad the poor girl killed herself, but the blame should be on the people who knew she was cutting herself. That's not normal, nor is it healthy. Metal Hammer posted on it, as well, however, with a lot more common sense, even ending their article as such: Still, don't let a few factual inaccuracies get in the way of a sensationalist story, eh? Rock on, Metal Hammer.
Remember my little review of the St. Louis show and Gerard was having issues with the zipper in his new pants? Yeah. That. Someone managed to get that recorded. Have fun lol.
I've been trying to add new videos for you bunnies but apparently my FTP has a broken pipe. FTP is the little program that I use to upload files to the site (there's no easy uploader for this thing!), so I don't know what a 'broken pipe' is supposed to be. So. Right. There goes my self-esteem in computer knowledge. Anyhow, I have My Chemical Romance's spot on SNL in 2006 in HD (yeah...not just HQ, but HD!), and "Song 2" and "I Don't Love You" as performed in Taratata in HQ as well. Oh, yeah, I also have a couple of MP3s to upload. However, my FTP apparently has a broken pipe. Will get back to you on those uploads, though.
Hats off to Lauren for offering some assistance with my...WordPress stupidity....I suppose it should be called lol. It's finished...minus a few details, ya know, like a design that works in IE and the navigation pages (e.g. Mikey, Media, etc.) are missing...their links... o.O Oh, laugh if you must. Haha.
Alright. It's 5am, I have lab at 9am, I still need to do tutorials, and when I'm this off center, I shouldn't be allowed on the Internet. Kathleen! I need that straight jacket back, love.

MCR-Inspired Fashion
May 5, 2008 | Filed Under: Other, Johnnie | Leave a comment?
I'm amused. This isn't totally MCR-related, but I was amused nonetheless.
Who woulda thought My Chemical Romance would be setting fashion trends?
Criminal Damage Black And Silver Grid Jacket
Tripp Black And White Strap Jacket
Tripp Black And White Grommet Strap Vest
Tripp Black Velour Banded Military Long Jacket
Now, I don't know that they were necessarily inspired by My Chemical Romance, but they are reminiscent of The Black Parade marching band (or, military as credited in some places) style.
P.S. Very expensive crap. Wish I had money lol.
TBPID, Sitely
Be careful when preordering The Black Parade Is Dead!. It'll overcharge your account if you enter your billing details incorrectly or something else that would make you hit the charge button more than once. Please contact Warner immediately.
There's also a few new tees in the Official Store.

Message from Mikeyway.
Hey Guys and Gals,
We have all been anxiously waiting for June 24th. On this day, the DVD/CD entitled "The Black Parade is Dead" hits stores, online outlets, and other avenues. Starting today, you'll be able to preorder said DVD/CD directly from
theblackparadeisdead.com . It depicts the final "Black Parade" show in all of its arena-rock glory, live from Mexico City this past Fall.
We also decided to include a video of the intimate show we had at New Jersey's legendary club, Maxwells, this past October. We played one of our very first shows on that stage, and it was amazing to be on it once again. These shows were some of the most memorable and fun we've ever had onstage. The kids at the Mexico City show actually overpowered the PA, and their voices were deafening. The Maxwells show was complete pandemonium, and the video captures the feeling of and old school MCR show, the way it was way back when. I want to apologize for the wait, as we wanted to make sure that it was absolutely perfect for your viewing pleasure.
With the pre-order, you are entitled to 3 DRM-free download of select tracks from the Mexico City show (Mama, Dead, and Welcome to the Black Parade). Inside the special edition, you'll find the DVD tucked inside of a collectible pinewood coffin box with our logo burned into the top. Also, inside, you will receive 1 of 5 Day of The Dead-esque masks we each designed. We had a blast designing them, and hope you have a blast wearing them, (or whatever else you choose to do with them). The special edition also contains a "death certificate of authenticity with our signatures printed on it. This edition if extremely limited, so if you want one, pre-order sooner than later.
We are almost finished with our special intimate theater tour and it's been insane. Some of venues we haven't played in many years, and flood my head with fond memories. It's amazing to be able to share with all of our fans old and new.
We love each and every one of you, and hope you have as much fun watching it as we had making it.
Regards
Mikeyway

WordPress shall be up sooner than later I'm also looking for a way to rip that Bamboozle interview with Mikey so I might be able to get that up at some point. I've also got a couple of HQ vids to put up later. So...hopefully we'll be able to keep this site alive for the next two years, yeah?
St. Louis
May 4, 2008 | Filed Under: Other, MCR News, Johnnie | 9 comments.
I have no idea what got into those guys, but My Chemical Romance was insane in St. Louis. There was a small smattering of Frerard, too.
Highlights:
- Frank grabbed the harmonica player's crotch.
- Gerard ruffled Frank's hair once, and was a little too friendly with him at times ;)
- Frank and Ray continued to nuzzle faces.
- Gerard did his classic 'suck' on the microphone...however it was in Mikey's face.
- At the end, Bob went freaking insane and all you could see was him headbanging and playing drums at the same time.
- Bob played "Fallen Leaves" with Billy Talent
- Ray was blowing his hair out of his face.
- Gerard just bought new pants and the fly wouldn't stay zipped, so it was down most of the show and he made a running joke of it.
- Gerard was insanely tempted by the bright red, fluffy boa I had. Every time he came over, I shook it around, and he stayed there and watched it haha. When I finally threw it at the beginning of "Prison", he missed it and threw this little dance/temper tantrum over missing it and picked it up.
- Bob did something (don't know what) that made the rest of the guys all turn around in a line with their backs to us and stare at him, which prompted Bob to give them the finger as he played the beginning of "Famous Last Words". I think he was goofing off with James and missed the intro or something silly.
- People started doing the "M-C-R" during James' piano solo, which I found extremely rude. So, if you were there and heard someone in the front yell, "Yeah, James!" or something, then that was me. It was a LOT shorter than the one he did in Birmingham and I think it was because of the response he was getting, and his entire family was there to see the crowd be so rude. Grow up, kids.
- Matt Cortez was milling around and did some jamming on the guitars. Sweeeet
- I bawled during "Desert Song"
- Gerard's fly was seriously having issues.
- Ray was on an invisible pogo stick at one point and was bouncing up and down so much he about ran right into Gerard.
- At one point, Gerard about got smashed between Frank and Ray who were being insane.
So, I finally heard it myself. Gerard announced they will, in fact, be taking a two-year break. I heard this with my own ears so believe it. I have a hard time believing they'll actually be away for two years, but they deserve a break so badly.
After the show, I met Frankie. Whoot! Got my ticket and Jenny's setlist from Alabama signed. I also got a very warm, cheek-to-cheek hug with him. And if anybody wants to argue, five-foot-five is too tall for Frank. I'm five-three and he was hardly taller than I. He's also now aware of the motion graphics project I'm doing on Skeleton Crew Records and will be sending him when it's finished.
My cheek is still warm.
Oh, and I got a "Mikey Fuckin Way" shirt, and that stupid Iron Maiden-inspired one, because it's cool. I don't know where I'll wear the MFW shirt, but, oh well. In most places, it's against dress code to wear it, but I will definitely wear it to concerts in the future, whether it's MCR or not lol. Also got my picture taken by the Skeleton Crew promotion kids since I had my Skeleton Crew hoodie on (which I was wearing when I met Frank lol).
Shout-out to the lovely ladies that put up with me in line: Deedee, one of the coolest moms ever--end of story. Stevie, who is ultimately awesome. Jamille and Stephanie, awesome girls, who let me put them on video for my project. Also, if you want to support a very heart-felt band, please check out Technicolor Aquahearts which was put together by a lady who's life was changed for the better thanks to My Chemical Romance. Cheers to the Finnish "Teenagers" cheerleaders, the ladies from England, Christina and her crew. Catherine, I hope you made it to Philly alright. You have my info if you need anything. If I missed someone...I just got home and haven't slept yet. Comment and yell at me lol.
Unfortunately, they were taking cameras again so I have no photos or anything. However, my mom was at the show and they didn't take anything in the back so she took some photos and video on her Palm Treo so I should be getting that next week.
Also, don't shove me and all of us up in front because we're over 21 and you're not. We got into the pit first because we all went through the Halo Bar and got let in earlier than everyone else. Get over it. I was in your place and I deserve to be up there now. You'll get your time. It's more expensive to do all-ages shows and more of an inconvenience to venues because of underage drinking and all sorts of bull. So, seriously, get over it. (end rant)
Kathleen, I am now in possession of part of your birthday present and there's nothing you can do about it.
And...I need to go to bed. In my MFW shirt. *snuggles in it* Miiiiikeyyyyy....... (lack of sleep)

Not much to post, but it is very much so Mikey related. So, it is worth an entire news post for just one link. =D
An interview with Mikey during Bamboozle Left can be seen right here.
Oh, and by the way... today was my eighteenth birthday. *throws confetti*
